Our head brewer, Austin Smith, is dedicated and passionate with years of experience in the brewing industry. After graduating the American Brewers Guild's Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering program, he started his career with 21st Amendment in San Leandro, CA, before taking on the role of head brewer at Pretoria Fields Farmhouse Brewery in Georgia. There, he had the privilege of learning from industry veteran Eric Kirchner, formerly of Russian River.

Most recently, he spent four years at Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone, where he brewed award-winning beers recognized with golds at the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival. Austin is excited to join the Parallel team and bring his creativity while remaining in the High Country beer scene. In his spare time he enjoys photography, rock climbing, writing, filmmaking, and poetry.
